Official: Ministry mulls creation of 40 bln rbl satellite group
MOSCOW, Jul 14 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Digital Development Ministry is discussing creation of a satellite constellation to ensure speedy Internet in hard-to-reach areas on personal devices with a planned budget of 40 billion rubles, Minister Maksut Shadayev said on Tuesday at a parliament meeting.
“It’s quite a large program with some 40 billion rubles planned,” Shadayev said.
The program will comprise the launch of four space apparatuses that will provide 3–4 million households with access to direct speedy satellite Internet, he said without disclosing any timing.
